Incubator Guide

Progression

How the Incubator works in Grow a Chicken Fighter — unlock cost, egg storage, luck boost, upgrade levels, and which chickens to put inside for egg farming.

What the Incubator Is

Added in UPDATE #1 (2026-08-15), the Incubator is a background egg-farming system. You place one of your chickens inside and it keeps producing eggs while you play normally — tower runs, PIT farming, or rebirth grinding all continue while the Incubator works toward the next egg.

Official patch notes simply list “Incubator” as a new mechanic; all numbers below are from in-game screenshots and player testing videos (SpaceQT, Kream Blox, GamerNom, Lost in Blocky, 2026-08-16).

How to Unlock

  • Cost: 300,000 Cash (in-game screenshot, SpaceQT).
  • Requires Rebirth level 3+ (player guide video, N-q5QfiWSCA).
  • After purchase you still invest in upgrades — this is a long-term progression system, not a one-time buy.

Core Mechanics

Feature What it does Source
Incubating chicken slot Pick any chicken you own; it defines which eggs the Incubator can produce (“possible eggs” panel). Screenshot (SpaceQT)
Next egg timer Each chicken has its own production interval (e.g. Founder Rooster ≈ 4:39; faster at higher Incubator levels — ~1:37 observed at level 10). Player tests (GamerNom, Lost in Blocky)
Egg storage Max eggs the Incubator holds before you must claim. Upgradable; max 60 eggs at max level. Player tests (N-q5QfiWSCA, Discord community)
Luck Boost Builds up while you stay in the same server (~90 minutes → +10% rare-egg luck). Resets when you leave the server. Player tests (Kream Blox, SpaceQT)
Incubator level Upgradable; max level 10. Some levels require a Rebirth level (e.g. Rebirth 75 for one tier). Level 8 upgrade shown costing ~10M Cash. Player tests (Lost in Blocky, Kream Blox)
Claim eggs button Collects produced eggs so production continues. Screenshot (SpaceQT)

Best Chickens for the Incubator

Do NOT default to your strongest fighter. A chicken’s combat strength and its egg-production value are separate things. The best Incubator chicken is the one whose possible-egg pool contains the egg you currently need.

  • Founder Rooster — the only chicken observed producing the Colossal/Colossus Egg (~25% chance) in the Incubator. Also splits Royal/Fortune.
  • Baron Cluck — produces Fortune Egg at 100% (cleanest Fortune farm).
  • Zombie Chick / dedicated chain chickens — produce Haunt eggs at 100%, stabilizing your Haunt farm.
  • Check the live egg index before choosing — egg pools change between updates.

Strategy consensus: unlock → raise egg storage so you don’t cap out → stay in one server to build luck → pick a chicken by possible eggs, not by combat tier.

Known Quirks

  • Rebirth removes your Incubator chicken. HOTFIX 1.1 (2026-08-15) claims this was fixed, but players still reproduced it on 08-16 — expect to re-place your chicken after each rebirth. Community-reported, conflicting with the patch note.
  • Offline production unconfirmed — the community has asked whether the Incubator works offline; no answer has been given yet.

Incubator Planning Checklist

Before you put a chicken into the Incubator, decide what you are trying to produce next. A chicken that supports an egg route may be more useful there than in a short combat test, while a current fighter may be too valuable to move until you have a replacement. Read the live Incubator screen for its capacity, upgrade cost, and any displayed luck or time effect; these details can change in an update and should take priority over an older estimate.

Use one change at a time when you want to understand the system. For example, note the available storage before and after one upgrade, or compare how the interface describes a chicken before and after you place it inside. Do not infer an exact production rate from one collection. Random egg outcomes need repeated, dated observations, and an offline result should be labelled separately from a result collected while the game was open.

Avoiding Lost Time and Inventory Mistakes

Keep enough space to claim eggs when you return. A full inventory or an unread confirmation screen can turn a planned collection session into a confusing result. Before you use a rare egg or a duplicate, check whether it is needed for your current fusion or rebirth plan. The Incubator works best as part of a clear loop: choose a target, collect the eggs, evaluate the result, then decide whether to repeat the route.

If a menu says a chicken will be consumed, moved, or locked, stop and read it in full. This guide does not assume that an action is reversible. Screenshots of the current panel are also the best way to report an outdated value: include the date, the page URL, and only the relevant visible information through Contact.
